About Us

Our Mission

The Game City Showcase was created to help local businesses and nonprofits benefit from Super Bowl 51 coming to Houston,  provide free ways Houstonians can celebrate the game in their  own neighborhoods and encourage use of rail to alleviate traffic and gridlock around town. This is event  “for us and by us”  to  “show love to local”

Our event allows you to celebrate the Big Game your own way, by choosing from a list of free events and experiences for the night and week.

For Houstonians By Houstonians

The Houston Mayor’s Office of Special Events, Houston Super Bowl Host Committee, METRO, Former City Councilman Gordon Quan, Civic Leader Susan Young, Entertainment Attorney Sergio Selvera, and Community Relations Expert Myra Johnson, along with Executive Director of the Museum, Theater, East Downtown and Museum District joined forces to coordinate the Game City Showcase.  We also had to professional support and services of our very talented staff, Hillary Jefferis, Nakia Cooper, Shelbi Nicole and Lydia Smith.
